Why Is The Greenhouse Important To Life On Earth?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Greenhouse Effect: The green house effect is caused by the presence of a trace amount of carbon dioxide and other trace gases in the Earth's atmosphere. It essentially contains the eat energy that the planet receives from the Sun and traps it in the atmosphere spreading it ubiquitously around the planet. It is due to this heat that Earth's temperature is regulated keeping it just enough warm to sustain life. If the carbon dioxide content on Earth was to somehow increase then the temperatures will rise rendering it too hot to allow protoplasms of living organisms to survive and it would become something like the planet Venus. If the greenhouse gases effect was to be completely removed then Earth would become something like Mars which has a very thin atmosphere insufficient to contain any heat energy.
