A tent is a shelter that mainly consists of various sheets of fabric, or some other clothing material. This material is then attached or draped over to a house like frame of poles, and in rare cases ropes. Some of the tents are free standing. The first use of tents as houses was done by the nomadic peoples, however today the main application for the tents is for recreational camping. Most of the tents are made up of fire retardant material; tents are used for recreational camping and can generally be transported by a car. Also depending on the size of the tent, it can house the people according to its capacity. Large tents can accommodate any thing from a single individual to a small platoon of soldiers.
