Set aside $4 for a round-trip ticket on the MBTA subway line. From there, take the Megabus from Back Bay station to New York City. There are more than 15 buses daily, and prices range from $1 to $18 USD one way, again. From New York, catch the Toronto-bound bus. Fares range from $1 to $78, which is still cheaper than Greyhound. This contains two transfers, not including transfers on the MBTA. This trip takes about 22 hours, with about 4 hours of layover time factored in.
