How Do Balloons Float?

I need an answer to this question because i have to do a science project and this was the given topic.

    If you are talking about hot air gas balloon then in that the warm air makes the molecules collide more rapidly and as the warm air is lighter than the cold air it makes the balloon float in the air. This means warmer air is less dense as compared cool air.
