What Exactly Are Miniature Roses?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Miniature roses are exactly like ordinary roses only they are bred on a smaller scale. They come in a wide variety of beautiful colours and they can be kept indoors as well as outdoors. It is thought that there are around 80 different varieties of miniature roses and these days they tend to outsell their larger relatives! They are fairly hardy and will only really suffer in extremely cold weather but they can always be brought indoors over the winter if you are worried about that!

They originally come from China and Switzerland but some of the earliest varieties sadly became extinct. They truly are ideal for any gardener and as mentioned, they can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Generally they do not need as much water in the winter, but they still need natural yet not direct, sunlight. Miniature roses can be bought at most garden centres and in some supermarkets so you really shouldn't have a problem finding them!
