What Is The Formula To Calculate Gravitational Force?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    According to Newton's gravitational law, two bodies attract each other with a force. This force is called gravitational force. This gravitational force is directly proportional to the product of masses of the bodies and is inversely proportional to the square of distance between bodies.The force can be calculated as;

    F= Gm1m2/r2

    G= gravitational constant

    m1= mass of first body

    m2= mass of second body

    r= distance between bodies

    If the distance between the bodies is increased, the magnitude of the gravitational force is decreased. Moreover, the force increases with the increase in masses of the bodies.
