Ramadan, the month for fasting of muslims, is a one month training for the 'siraat-e-mustaqueem' - the right path. In fact Allah wants us toi learn to follow what he has already said in Holy Quran. This is why he says that the Holy Quran descended in the month of Ramadan, when we know it took 23 years to complete, and that its revelations occurred in all months. Here in the month of Ramadan, we restrain from very righteous things of life like, food, reactions to wrong deeds, all the pleasures that might also lead to sins, etc. This we do on Allah's orders. Then why cant we restrain from bad things in life? Moreover, when we learn to surrender our right for Allah, we learn to surrender our rights for other humans. If we learn to surrender our rights for others and show patience, Allah will be with us and see to it that we are given much more than we have surrendered. Allah says I'm with the patient ones. By observing fasting with true spirit, we begin to become momins. Allah says "I become the hands of momin with which he works, I become the eyes of momin with which he sees,  I become the tongue of momin with which he talks, I become the feet of momin with which he walks". In fact for a momin, or in other words for a fasting person, there is no reward but Allah Himself! This is what he says!
