Does Anyone Know A Really Good Beginner's Book On Oil Painting?

Internet is great...but it gets kinda overwhelming. Plus, I have a hard time telling the experts from the novices. I want a technical book that explains priming, best oils to use, what kind of brushes, mixing of primary and secondary colors vs ready made colors, and what things to add to the oils to change their effect, what kind of easel. I want to learn the nature of the medium before I actually let loose. I want to avoid the mistakes from the beginning instead of hundreds of dollars later.
