Edinburgh has a number of good restaurants and eating places. Many of the good restaurants are located in and around the Appleton Tower. Some of the restaurants close to the Appleton Tower within a radius of 5km are, Nicolsons on Nicolson Street, Polo Fusion, Lawnmarket serves very good Scottish and French cuisines. Then there's Annpurna on 45 St Patrick Square serving good South-Indian vegetarian food. The Tower Restaurant on Chambers Street serves Scottish cuisine. Then there's Chapterhouse on South College Street and serves inexpensive set lunch and dinner menus. A little away from Appleton Tower there's Scalini on Queensferry and offers some of the best Italian food available in Edinburgh. Here the price may be a little on the higher side.

Usually restaurants are open from 1200-1430 and 1800-2200 and are closed on Sundays and most of these places offer lunch as well as dinner.
