What Is A CPU Register?

I am new to blurtit and would like to ask questions but i am not sure how to fill in the ask question section on the site itself

    CPU register is a memory address for a specific amount of data. And instructions in CPU are executed by using these memory addresses. And they are used to locate some memory saved in Central Processing Unit.

    I am very new in this site and have been search the types of CPU Registers and Exaples but I couldn't find it.
