    In the 17th century,Isaac newton stated the laws of motion and gravitation.He wrote about these lawes in his famous book, "Principia Mathematica", which later on formed the basics of classical physics.Indeed his contribution towards physics holds immense importance for mankind. :)

        F= GMm . was the law for gravitation and g=    Gm    / r^2
              r^2                                                                               
        he also had 3 laws of motion.

        and using his laws of gravittaion nasa went to the moon.

        and hookes law is f= -kx.
