    What's The Best Method To Help Me To Quit Smoking?

    I have to quit because I need leg reconstructive surgery? QUITTING may be the hardest thing Ive ever done.

    This probably isn't what you want to here, but the best way to quit is to truly make the decision that you are going to quit and just do it cold turkey. I smoked a pack a day for 25 years and I have not had one all year long. After the first 3 months or so the cravings will go away. I did go to a hypnotist with some friends in early January and I listened to a cd that I got of the hypnotist when I went to bed for about a month or so. It might have had an effect, but I don't really think so. If anything, it simply reinforced in my mind that I had quit smoking. You really have to want to quit.

      There is a new drug called Chantix. I think it blocks nicotine receptors. I know a lot of people who have tried lots of different ways, and Chantix did the trick.

      I too have seen Chantix work for many of my friends , however you MUST check with your Doctor , it does have side effects !
