I met the love of my life at a bookstore.  I was just browsing the books on a Sunday, sipping on a coffee-- and I heard someone playing acoustic guitar music in another part of the store.  I just kept browsing (a bit distractedly), and then I hear "this song goes out to Susan", and then I hear my  favorite song "Blackbird" softly being played on acoustic guitar.  What were the odds- my name, my  favorite song - my favorite type of music...  It just stopped me in my tracks.  I went to investigate, and there he was. I was inexplicably moved, by the music, by his playing, by something--still can't put my finger on it.  I kind of just stood there in the back of the group that had gathered, like a big goof.  I think my heart was drooling...
Turns out he was promoting his and a friend's CD ...  We talked after he was done playing.  We had coffee... Talked some more.  I asked him about the song for "susan", and he said he just thought of a name.  Well, he went back to California, and we just ocassionally emailed just to keep in touch.  He was visting again after another year... He moved to Colorado two months later.

I am not surprised at all that you are the first one to answer... and that it is in such a "story-book" fashion in which you two met!
    Thanks for answering!

My pleasure. And thank you for asking the question; wonderful to recount this and be able to share it with others. :) It WAS storybook (great pun by the way)!

The one and ONLY is right now in Alaska, and she's not that good looking or smart, and is a little over weight with more than your minimal daily requirements of vitamins "T" and "A"! She's an old time Cowgirl, and if I had to say what's so special, I could not do it, But she is and I don't know why! I sent word to her (through her Mother), and she doesn't reply so I'd say it's a one way street! So I'm still looking! It seems like I've been here before, too!

OO, looks like I am the first to say we met at school, on a biology field trip.  People seem to find that funny, I don't know why.

I met my significant other at a Halloween party of all places!  I was dressed as a pumpkin and he was dressed as a cocker spaniel (clever costume).  I thought he was rather obnoxious at first because he was trying to act like a dog panting and drooling (gmo)...but then I later found out he had a bet with his friends who said he wouldn't do it...ANYWAY, we finally started a normal conversation and found out we did have a few things in common...and so the rest is history....this was in 1990 and we are still together but not married yet.  Still planning on getting married, just don't have a date set.lol

What a cute story. Does he call you his little pumpkin? :) And that's one lengthy engagement!! Don't forget that cocker spaniels only live to about 17-19 years old. LOL!

We had an awesome life together. The ending is not very storybook (or maybe just a rather temporary sad ending to one). He was apparently needed elsewhere. He has been gone now for 4 years. I think I shall always be in love with him... He was never one to break his promises, and I believe we will hold one another again someday.

I met the true love of my life at the workplace, we worked different shifts. So we would see each other in passing and at meetings. I was married to someone else ( bad marriage, with an abusive husband) he was with his girlfriend. We talked some but never did anything or even talked about doing anything,  but I always had big crush on him I guess you could say, I could not figure out what it was I just would find myself thinking of him often. Anyway ,I moved out of town about 90 miles away. Two years later, we were at a conference and the room was full of people around different tables. We all had to introduce our selves and it was his time to speak. My back was turned away from him so I only heard his name. My legs started to shake uncontrollably, and my heart was racing. All I could think of is "it's him it's really him Oh my" anyway he was right behind me. I turned around and we kinda touched fingers. Later as the group let out for lunch we talked and caught up on what the other had been doing the past 2 yrs. I was now divorced and he was now no longer with his girlfriend. So we talked a few more times, after that and started dating( long distance relationship for about 3months. Then he asked me to marry him " I said yes" he moved to my town, 6 yrs have gone by now and we are  still happily married. I think he is awesome. I am so Thankful to have found him!!!!

How lucky you are to have lost and found him again. Better still that circumstances for both of you left you two honest to your previous relationships before engaging in this one! Way to go!
