Swampy the eco warrior best remembered for his role in the protests over building the Newbury bypass in the 90's is at present living in Wales in a commune of like minded environmentally conscious people. He now has a family and is the father of three children and is leading a quite and contented life.

In a recent talk with reporters he said that he is happy where he is and has become quite good at gardening growing the family's vegetable needs. In his spare time he helps in planting trees for the Forestry Commission.

Life at the commune he says is perfect as the people live in perfect harmony with nature. There are no cars or any modern amenities but as he says neither are there any factories, pollution, crime or any tension regarding bills and the like. He says that the people live by growing their food, cook over a campfire and use a solar panel for generating electricity.
