Who Is Jamie Carragher?

Jamie Carragher is a current Liverpool and England footballer.  

He joined Liverpool as a school boy and went through the clubs academy at the same time as former Liverpool and England centre  forward Micheal Owen.  

Carragher was born in the Bootle area of Merseyside and is one of only a handful of local players to currently play for the club.  

He has appeared for his country on over fifty occasions and has been unlucky to have been born ion an era when the England national side is spoilt for chioce in the centre back department.  

Jamie began his career as a centre midfielder, but after breaking into the Liverpool first team while Gerrard Houllier was at the helm, he was moved into defence and he played the majority of his games for the club at either full back.  Its with the arrival of Spaniard Rafa Benitez that Carragher has made the change to centre back.
