We Have Joint Legal Custody Of Our Son Do I Have To Tell Him I Am Moving Out Of State?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Forget about the fact that you have joint custody don’t you love your child.  Why would you not tell him, suppose something happen how could he reach you.  I don’t know why you wanted joint custody, was it for Income Tax purpose only.  If he lived with you would you move and leave him in the house alone?  What are you thinking or should I say drinking?  Sure you must tell your child you are moving, how you plan to continue being an active parent if your child does not have your address and telephone number.  To move without telling him, would show him that you have no love for him at all and that would really hurt him.  Also, it may destroy his self worth.  Stop thinking about your self and start thinking like a responsible parent. Take care.
