Who Is Dante Alighieri?

    Dante Alighieri is a poet from Italy. He is known as an Italian Florentine Poet. He was born on the 1st of June in the year 1265. Dante Alighieri was also known as Durante degli Alighieri he was also simply known as Dante. He is very well renowned for his very famous work called La Divina Commedia (The Divine Comedy). This was his greatest work ever, in fact it was considered as the greatest literary statement ever produced in the continent of Europe during the time of the Middle Ages.

    Dante was born in the cit of Florence sometime between the 18th of May and 17th of June in the year 1265. It is believed that when he was born he was named as Durante and that the name Dante could be a short form of his actual name.
