How Should I Write A Personal Letter To The Parents Of My Daycare, In Which I Direct, That I Am Resigning?

This is a slightly more difficult situation than a straightforward resignation letter, and the standard resignation templates probably wouldn't meet your case.

Assuming that your daycare facility is small enough for you to know the parents by name, I would put individual names on each letter if possible. I would stress how sorry you are to leave, how much you have enjoyed working with their children etc - more than you would on a standard letter of resignation. If it's possible to give the reasons why you are leaving, then I would do that, but if not, at least make it clear that it is not them, or their kids, that you want to leave.

Can you also give lots of reassuring information? They would probably be very glad to hear who (if anyone) is taking over from you, where they can get any help they need etc.

I would end with a nice message for their future and their children's future, and perhaps a hope to meet again especially if you aren't moving away.
