Are There Any Generally Healthy Small Dog Breeds?

Are there any generally healthy small dog breeds? I so want to get a new dog, but I had bad experience with my other small dogs that developed very expensive skin allergies. I would like to avoid this by getting a puppy with a greater probability of having a healthy life. By the way, both of my previous dogs were mixed bred. Any suggestions?
