The first signs of being pregnant can differ from a woman to woman. In some cases a woman may skip a menstrual cycle or sometimes morning sickness could be the first sign of pregnancy. This sign is the most reliable sign of pregnancy. However, in some very rare cases, the mother to be can have a light menstrual cycle, but it is advisable to consult a doctor and confirm the cause of the same.
After the first sign a home pregnancy test needs to be taken in order to confirm if you are pregnant or not. The levels of hCG (hormone secreted during pregnancy) in your urine determines the test. This level of hCG keeps differing every week. At the very morning, the level will be higher.
Other than urine tests a blood test which is generally done after 7 to 10 days post ovulation gives you a very accurate result.
