Where Is Christchurch?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Christchurch is a city located in the Southern Island of New Zealand. It's the third largest metro in the country. Located on the eastern coast, the city is named after a cathedral – Christ Church. The current written form "Christchurch" came into existence in the 1880s. Besides having a holy reverence Christchurch is also called "The Garden City" because of extensive green patches in form of Residential Parks and Public Parks. This city has a flat terrain, which offers beautiful and open views. Few tall edifices and vast splashes of green give Christchurch a woody feel in spite of being so urbanized.

The population of the city is 344,100 (approx.), which is believed to be second highest in
the country and the largest in the South Island.
