Do Wasp Die After They Sting Like Bees?

Answer Question

4 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

No. A honey bee has a barbed sting which rips loose after it stings, but a wasp has a smooth stinger and can sting multiple times. Note that a bumble bee also has a smooth stinger and is not injured by stinging.

They don't die, which is part of what makes them so dangerous. When they decide to attack en masse, each wasp can sting hundreds of times, even though they may run out of toxins!
