What Is Saint Dwynwen's Day And When Is It?

Saint Dwynwen's Day is on the 25th January and it's regarded as the Welsh Valentines Day.
Dwynwen was reputed to have been born in the C5 in Wales and was a princess, one of 24 daughters!
Her father wanted to marry a man of his choosing but she fell in love with Maelon Dafodrill - a prince.
She didn't know what to do so an Angel came and gave a drink which she gave to Maelon, unfortunately for him it turned him into ice.
She was also granted three requests from the angel. One she used to relaease Maelon from the icy prison, the second she used to ask that all true lovers should be cared for and the third that she should remain unmarried for ever.

She is said to have retreated to the island of Llanddwyn off the coast of Anglesey in Gwynedd.
