Hi, I do not think so.  However, I would check  with your states real estate laws.   I know in my state you do not.  Take care!

If you can afford the loan repayments on your own, you won't have to supply details of your spouse's income, but the loan company/bank or whoever is giving you the loan will do a credit check on you and details of your partner will appear on the results, so if your spouse has bad credit rating or a criminal record, you could have difficulty getting a loan.

I think you can get a loan by yourself, as long as your credit and income are enough to satisfy the loan company.  My brother found out  his wife had really bad credit when they went to buy a house.  The bank let him use his name only for the loan.

textIf you are applying for a loan you can get one in your name.  If you use your spouse's income it may help you to get the loan, providing they don't have horrible credit.  The more money you can show that you have the more it looks like you are able to repay the loan and the more likely you are to get one.
