Answer Question

Lieutenant  Moin U. Ahmed, the Chief of the Bangladesh Army staff once again issued a statement that denied any intention on the Army's behalf to promulgate martial law in Bangladesh.  This opinion was expressed by him while he was talking to a group of editors of national daily newspapers, all of whom were there to talk about their concerns about the prospect of entrenchment of martial law in Bangladesh – something, which the Army Chief downright denied.

The only reason because of which the emergency-based government had assumed power was the growing corruption in the country in attribution to the activities of the political parties, something which instantly needed to be encumbered or else it would have generated further severe repercussions.  Regarding media freedom, the Army Chief acknowledged and admitted several media intimidating incidents, which according to him were an aberration as the media was the sole bridge of contact between the emergency-based government (or any government for that matter) and the public.
