What Happened On 23rd March 1940?
Answers
Every year Pakistanis commemorate the 23rd of March. The simplereason behind this commemoration every year lies in the historic importanceof this day for the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
23rd March 1940 marked a distinct turn of events for the Muslims of South Asia as on this very day a resolution was passed that demanded a separate homeland for Muslims, not as a favor but as a right, which the Muslims were correct and justified in demanding, considering the fact that they were a clearly distinct and separate nation.
The fundamental credit for setting a strong and clear basis for demanding Pakistan goes exclusively to Sir Syed Ahmed Khan who had earlier presented the two nation theory that authentically established the fact that Hindus and Muslims are two completely separate nations, a fact that went a long way in advocating the Pakistan resolution and ultimately the creation of Pakistan.
