When two organizations merge such issues arise. If you want to merge two positions in to one to reduce the cost or for any other person there is a proper procedure because for such a new position you will also require a best fit for the job. First you should go for hybrid human resource information management system (HRIMS), in which you will collect the data of all of the employees in the organization. You will find that there will be few employees which will have over-lapping tasks. On the basis of their qualification, experience and their performance you can give two positions to one and you can also offer the same person more incentives to do that job. For example, in some companies there are two separate managers for marketing and for sales but in some organizations there is one manager for sales and marketing.
