How Do I Find Out About A Neighbourhood In The United States?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The best way to find out about a neighbourhood is to look up the statistical information that is available pertaining to it. Different agencies in the United States gather information on different aspects of the locality. In certain cases the information may be aggregate totals for cities and not local enough.

The Administration for Children and Families maintains records about child welfare, The Bureau of Labour Statistics provides employment and job relevant data, The Bureau of Justice Statistics offers data on crime and the criminal justice system, The Census Bureau provides five year nationwide statistics, the Drug Enforcement Administration provides drug related information and over a hundred other agencies. Usually crime and other related data can also be collected from the local emergency services. The mayor's office may also be a good place to start along with local newspaper offices.
