Despite the lingering stigma of the old Soviet days, Aeroflot Russian Airlines offers the same level of in-flight service to its passengers as western full-service flag carriers. In fact, in some cases Aeroflot's short-haul meal service actually appears to be better than that provided on many major western airlines. In-flight meals served on Aeroflot depend on the time of day. For economy class passengers, a morning flight would include a cold breakfast consisting of cold-cuts, bread and fruits, while on longer flights a hot breakfast may be served.
During the rest of the day, cold meals are served on short-haul flights, consisting of a salad, cold cuts, bread and a dessert. A variety of hot meals are served on long-haul routes, usually including meat, rice or pasta.
Most alcoholic beverages are also complimentary, with the exception of sparkling wine.
Aeroflot's in-flight entertainment also appears to be largely up to par with western airlines. Relatively recent Hollywood films are shown on most longhaul flights . Video on demand is also available on some routes.
