Who Was The Greek God Aeolus?

    Aeolus according to the Greek methodology was the son of Hippotes, who is a god and the father of winds. He had six sons and six daughters and ruled the island of Aeolia(a floating island). The Greek consider him to be the god or custodian of the four winds. According to myth Odysseus the Greek hero known for his brain and power visited Aeolus and on his visit gave Aeolus the four winds in a bag. Aeolus traped Anemoi Thuellai and Aiolos, the spirits of violent storm winds, and set them free only to create choas or for storms.
