Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

This question have even left the scientists baffled and confused. There are many popular theories as to the reasons that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs though none of them have been proved entirely without any doubt. A theory named asteroid theory is the most popular and well known. This theory states that dinosaurs became extinct because a huge asteroid or comet collided with earth and this led to dramatic changes that the dinosaurs were not able to bear and overcome.

The Volcanic theory states that increase in the volcanic activity of the earth some 65 million years is responsible for the dinosaurs becoming extinct. Some other theories have several other reasons like a killer disease that finished off the dinosaurs, severe ice age or drastic changes in climate and weather. But till today none of them have been ascertained or proven scientifically and we can only speculate about this occurrence.
