I Suffer From Rheumatism. Can I Cure It With Aromatherapy?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are lots of different kinds of rheumatic symptoms, brought on by many different reasons – and rheumatism can affect both bone and soft tissue.

So unless you can say for certain precisely which kind of rheumatism you have, and how it was brought on, it's best to say no, you can't cure it with aromatherapy.  In fact, aromatherapy and essential oils never provide the actual cure to any kind of complaint – they just activate your body's own internal healing mechanisms.

However, that's not to say aromatherapy can't help relieve the symptoms of your rheumatism, so here's an essential oil recipe to ease, soothe and help repair the damage:

20 drops Lavender, to soothe and stimulate cell growth
10 drops Eucalyptus, as an analgesic
10 drops Juniper, to purify tissue
10 drops Frankincense, to rejuvenate affected tissue

Mix the essential oils with 100ml cold-pressed vegetable, nut or seed oil to make up a massage lotion for use on a regular basis, and store it in the fridge, in a small glass bottle.
