Answer Question

Ludwig Van Beethoven is the classical music composer that you are referring to. Beethoven was a "child prodigy," meaning that even as a young child, he was exceptionally skilled in playing and writing music. There are many theories about why Beethoven became deaf; some believe that he lost his hearing because of some kind of physical illness that affected his ears. Others believe that his father often beat him on the face and head, harming his ears. We don't really know why Beethoven became deaf, but we do know that gradually his hearing became worse. By the time he was in his late 30's, he was totally deaf. Most of Beethoven's greatest music was written after he lost his hearing; he could hear the notes in his head, and he knew just what the music would sound like when it was played. Beethoven tried to keep his deafness a secret, but soon it was undeniable that he couldn't hear his own music. Beethoven is often thought to be the finest composer of classical music of all time, yet he never heard a single note. When Beethoven died, a poet wrote these words about him:  "The sounds of the Earth were stilled for him, so that in that silence he might capture the sounds of Heaven."

Beethoven wrote only his last song while deaf. there is a good movie on comcast about it. He also cut off the legs of his piano so he could better feel the vibrations.
