A graphics tablet is a device which allows users to draw images and graphics, which are displayed on a computer monitor. The graphics tablet can be used with programmes such as Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Corel Painter.
The graphics tablet comes with a stylus, which is pressed on the pad of the tablet. The tablet is similar to using a pencil on paper. The user will use the stylus to draw an image, which will appear on the computer screen. The stylus can also be used as a cursor when positioned above the pad and moved around.
Graphic tablets also come with a mouse, which can be used in the same way as an ordinary computer mouse. The stylus can also be used to colour in images as well as draw them.
As well as producing images, the graphics tablet may also be useful for producing your own signatures and fonts. Graphics tablets are pressure sensitive, meaning that the harder you press the stylus onto the pad, the darker the mark it will make.
