    Set it up:
    30x +40x + 30 = 100
    Combine like terms:
    70x = 70
    Solve for x:
    X=1 - One hour after ship B leaves they will be 100 miles apart.

    Proof: After 2 hours ship A is 30 miles away from port. Ship B will be 40 miles away 60 + 40 = 100.
