What Is An Instant Message?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

an instant message is a message which is sent during message, and reaches the recipient instantly once it has been typed out.

Instant messaging is different from both email and text messaging in the way that users can see the messages instantly, meaning that users can chat to each other as though they were face-to-face.

In order to use instant messaging, users must first download an instant messaging program from an instant messaging service such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Skype, iChat, Google chat etc.

Once an instant messaging program has been downloaded, it can be used straight away. Users can begin adding contacts and chatting.

Instant messaging is a good way of keeping in touch with friends and family, and some social networking sites, such as Myspace, allow users to download an instant messaging program and chat to the people on their friends lists.
