    The largest state in the US is Alaska with a total area of 663267 square miles. The second largest state is Texas with an area of 268581 square miles and the third is California with an area of 163696 square miles. The other states in the order of decreasing size after these are Montana, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, Wyoming, Michigan, Minnesota, Utah, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Missouri, Florida, Wisconsin, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, New York, North Carolina, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Maine, South Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware and Rhode Island being the smallest state
