What Religion Do African Americans Believe In?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Well, in America there are many different religions that came from other continents around the world and we are allowed to worship as we choose.  African Americans as you know were very persecuted over one hundred years ago as they entered this country mainly through the South. They worked as slaves on plantations -  most kidnapped and sold into slavery.  As a result of their hardships many have deep solid roots in Christianity.  Faiths ranging from Protestant to Catholic.  The Muslim faith is not a predominant African American faith, however, I would say it must have it's members.  I am guessing not as many as Protestant (Baptist, Charismatic, Methodist, Presbyterian, or Catholic). Hope that helped you out some.
