Yes, the sequel is entitled “Angels and Demons” and was released in May 2009. The sequel has the same director as the original film and once again features the character Robert Langdon, who is played by Tom Hanks in both films.
The story is based on the 2000 best-selling novel “Angels and Demons” by Dan Brown. The film, like the book, is a mystery thriller and has so far received many positive reviews unlike “The Da Vinci Code”, which received mainly negative reviews and was voted one of the worst films of 2006. The sequel has also performed more successfully at the box office than the first film adaptation.
