Who Was Cotton Mather?

    Cotton Mather was born in 1663 on the 12th of February. He completed a BA in 1678 from the Harvard College and his MA in 1681. He did his honorary doctorate in 1710 from the Glasgow University. He was a socially politically influential minister of the Puritans. He was also a productive author, and pamphleteer. He was the sibling of significant minister Increase Mather. He is frequently remembered for his maltreatment of suspected witches.

    Mather was given the name subsequent to his grandfather, John Cotton. He was the author of more than 450 books and pamphlets. His omnipresent literary works made him one of the prominent religious leaders in America.
