How Does Carl Hiaasen Portray The State Of Florida?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Carl Hiaasen was born and brought up in the state of Florida. He has never left the state and loves it a lot here. He loves the natural beauty of the state of Florida and enjoys being close to the state. The tropical type of weather suits him just fine. He cites the state of Florida as his main inspiration and motivation to write various novels and columns for the newspapers. One thing he hates about the fact is that the state is being destroyed by big organizations. They are converting the natural beauty of the state to industries and wishes that these things never happened. Due to this, he has portrayed the state in his books very differently.

In his books he has shown that the state is full of corrupt politicians and businessman who only see their own profit. It also comprises of arrogant and ignorant citizens and people who come from other states and have no idea as to what goes around in the state.
