    And, if the ice is a ball, there's less ice in the outside heat, so it melts slower. If the ice is in a rod, then the middle will get heat faster, then when the outside of the ice melts, the inside would have melted too.

      Yes, if there's a hole in the middle, more exposure

        Yes if flat melt right away if cube then it will melt slower
