What Was Microsoft's Original Name For Word?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The original name given to Microsoft word was Multi-Tool Word which was made for Xenix systems in 1983. Microsoft word is basically word processing software. Many versions were made for other PCs like IBM PCs which were using DOS (1983), Apple Macintosh (1984), SCO UNIX, OS/2 and Microsoft Windows. It was later on added to the Microsoft office suite, in which it is called Microsoft Office Word. Many concepts like the working of word were taken from Bravo, the initial GUI word mainframe which was developed at Xerox PARC.

In the latest versions of Micro-soft word documents, Word files can be vastly modified by using a built in macro language. In general Micro Soft word has become a day-to-day need for any organisation.
