How Are CD Rewriters Made?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A compact disc rewriter is basically a modified version of a CD writer. Multi-session CD writer and CD rewriter media are used to keep copying the data which is stored on the compact disc onto the same CD as many times as the user desires.

CD rewriters are designed in such a way that they can copy the entire contents of a 128-megabyte Memory Stick in a duration of less minutes. The Memory Stick can be connected to a personal computer using a USB 2.0 or a USB 1.1.

A compact disc rewriter writes CD's at about 24 times the speed, rewrites CD's at about ten times the speed and reads media at about 24 times the speed. It takes a duration of approximately five minutes for a CD rewriter to burn a 650-megabyte CD.
