How Does Wool Get Turned Into Cloth

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Wool is sheared from sheep and carded to make the fibers go in a usable direction, not matted up. Carding entails a combing or brushing process. Then it goes to spindle which twists the fibers together in a long thread, the thread is then loaded into spools in cloth factories and it is woven or knit into cloth. Some people still do this in old fashioned handmade ways. Women in olden times did all the carding and spinning of the fibers and made what was called homespun clothes.
