My glasses were broken and can i say the above sentence in spoken English

It had been broken means that the thing was broken in past. Every sentence in English is according to the situation and tense. If some one asks you about your glasses then you can say that It had broken or it had been broken for the last two days.

This sentence is in past perfect so normally the time is not know but if you say that it was broken then you must mention the time because ( it was broken ) is in past simple we will need to make it specific. For example, it was broken (this morning)
