There are a number of options available while you are choosing an antivirus software for your pc. Most of them work fine. I am currently using McAfee on my PC. Personally I like Norton and McAfee the best, there are many choices though. Most are updated regularly and serve most peoples' needs. I also suggest getting spyware for your computer, I think spybot is the best for that purpose. Oh and please if you can give them a little something (even though it is freeware) do so, they deserve a donation.
