How Long Does It Take To Download Videos?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

If you are using a dial up Internet connection, which supports only between 28.8 kilobytes (which is abbreviated as 28.8Kbps) and 56 kilobytes (which is abbreviated as 56Kbps), downloading a video file can be a very painful and frustrating experience, because it seems to make the user wait endlessly for the process of downloading to be completed.

A video file or clip which is in the MPEG format, which is of a duration of about thirty seconds (that is, half a minute) and possibly takes up about three megabytes (which is abbreviated as three MB), can take upto a maximum duration of about ten to fifteen minutes to download. A cable modem is faster option than a dialup Internet connection, but using a DSL Internet connection can reduce the time taken to download the video file to a considerable extent. Your download time depends on the size of the video file which you want to download.
