How And Where Do I Apply For Unemployment Benefit?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

In the United Kingdom people who have become unemployed can visit their local Job centre in order to apply for their social security benefits in the form of Job Seeker Allowance which is meant for those seeking work.

There are two types of benefits that are available; the first category based on money paid to the National Insurance or Contribution Based and that which is based on a person's money inflow or Income Based. To find out where you need to apply you can visit the Job Centre website at www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/a>. The website has a FAQ section as well which is meant to make matters clear.

The amounts a person can qualify for vary according to age as well and are around thirty four pounds for those aged between sixteen and seventeen, forty five pounds for those aged eighteen to twenty four and fifty six pounds for those aged twenty five and above each week.

You should have a local unemployment chapter in your town or you could call the social service office and they could help you
