Based on the way you word your proposed answer (where you go from a how-to question to a yes/no question), I assume you mean how do you do it in a programming language like Visual Basic, C++, Java, Javascript, Perl, or PHP. The answer is essentially yes, to put a number into a textbox, you would have to convert it to string. If you mean how can you interpret what the user has typed into the box as an integer, then you would convert the string to int. But in most modern programming languages, the conversion is done automatically. For example, in Visual Basic or PHP you can use a string variable whose value represents an integer in a numeric expression as if it were an integer variable, and it will automatically interpret the value correctly.
